Default heated mirror question

Hello all,
This is my first post. I just purchased a 99' GS 300 for my wife. The driver's side mirror is spidered and the dealer we bought it from said he would replace it. The glass is the only part that has any defect, the motorized part and the heater element works fine.

We have the memory seat package so the mirrors are electrochromatic (auto dim at night). To replace the electrochromatic glass is $407 to replace it with the non electrochromatic glass is only $75. The dealership is trying to replace it with the cheaper one, who woulda thought... Anyway I don't really care about the electrochromatic a whole lot but I do care about the mirror being heated.

can someone tell me whether or not the mirror will still be heated if it is replaced with the non electrochromatic glass, and also if it will auto adjust when we use the memory seat buttons like they do now? Random I know, but 2 different lexus dealerships are saying different things. One says that you cannot replace just the glass, the whole power/heat/glass assembly has to be replaced, the other says just the glass needs to be replaced. The price is the same from both dealerships oddly. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Justin

the mirrors can be replaced but it has to be replaced with the ones that are heated for the wires to connect to. when i replaced my heated mirrors, i used the jdm wide angle mirrors which happen to be heated also.

memory and all that stuff should be fine.

tell the dealer to make things right for you, its not right for them to give you something of lesser value without another compensating factor.

Ok, thanks for the info. I guess it is possible to just replace the glass piece than. Do all GS 300's, even those without the electrochromatic mirrors. have heated mirrors?

yes I believe so. My gs400 has heated mirrors but no dimming on the side mirrors.
