Default pulling fenders

i searched and i dont think anyone on here really pulls fenders. but...i figure i'd ask anyway.

anyone pull their fenders to the max? im just wondering how far the fenders would come out on the GS. i ask cause i want to put the widest rims possible on there. i just want to be able to stop as quick as i can incase i need to do some sudden braking (ex: accident ahead)

i've done a shaving of fenders diy but not a pulling fenders. when the gs3 goes into paint in a few years i will be pulling the fenders to the max i.e. cutting and pulling and adding fender moldings to go a little mini widebody.

They'll come out as far as a fender roller will stretch them....or a baseball bat.

pulling the fenders is likely to make your paint crack. I am planning on having my fenders pulled when I redo the car. I remember 1/2" being the result for a conservative pull.

You can get a way with a slight pull and heat gun. Anything drastic, you can expect body work.

i've done this before. gotta have the car out in the sun, heat gun, taped up, baseball bat. the paint doesnt crack. if it does its on the inner lip usually.

anywho, my 240 can fit 17x10 +12's all around after i did this. i know the rear came out at least 1.5 inches.

so no one knows how far the stock GS fenders would come out eh? i guess i'll just give it a go and then fit wheels on afterwards

emerald, why are you on so many damn sites? lol

It' s not so much that no one knows, most people just seek other options.

You can put 20 x 11 rims with 305 size tires with no fender pull and no rubbing as long as you shave and select the right offset.

Do you want to go wider than that like 12" rims or more?

If not do a search to see how it's been done, without pulling.

If you just want the look or need some clearance, then go ahead and try pulling, but beyond a small amount, your only going to get so far without needing to repaint.

Sleepless in Seattle.......

My rear fender is rolled but as several people have stated you need a heat gun and patience to do it without cracking the paint. Make sure you remove the plastic little parts behind the holes that the fenders plastic strip screws on to.

I believe one of the local guys is about to roll his fender this week or next, maybe I can get him to do a DIY.

Is this marshun from my old forum?!?!

when did u get a GS?

Im pretty much just here and VSC...but will be out n about now that my license is reinstated & probation over. LoL!!

About the fenders, mine are slightly pulled but I didnt go that aggressive on the GS. Metal will stretch paper thin if you stretch enough. The only problem I could see is making sure it 'looks good'. I thought about going with a slight 'wide body' but dont want to deal with the rear door area

good to 'see' u again
