I love the horsepower that my GS400 puts out. I have been looking at wheels for it but as much as I want the car to look great, I don't want to take away from the performance. I currently have 16's on it. Does anyone know if there is a certain size I should go with if performance is my main objective? If so could you send me a link?

If you're stuck on 19's or 20's then i'd go with 19 for sure. If not get some 18" BBS'...Yummm

If you really like the look of 20's then go find some really light alloy 20's ... and remove the spare tire to compensate for the added weight ...

Also keep in mind the cost difference between the 2 different tire sizes. 20's generally are cheaper than 19's and more common.

You are more likely to find better quality 20 inch tires on sale or specials than 19 inch tires.

I think looks are very subjective. I personally would rather have 19's because for me, 20's put the car too high off the ground.

Elliot... Thats what a proper suspension is for mang. Sure you might have to tub out some fender, but with a little ingenuity you could make 21's sit like 19's.

I took out my spare tire and jack assembly when I put on my 19's to help with a bit of weight reduction. The problem is, the spare tire is used to hold cargo weight and stabalizes the truck bed. W/out the spare in, if you put any cargo in that weighs more than 20 lbs, you can see the depression it creates because of the lack of support that the spare used to provide. Has anyone addressed this problem?

the gs400 has reported 300hp (not at the wheels of course), but still. v8 is v8 = decent size cajones...know what i mean. do what you like.

anyways... if you take 1lb off the wheel it will effect your performance more than if you take 1lb off the chassis.

Well I have a supra TT spare then I cut a custom wood crossbar and solved the problem. The supra TT spare weighs at least half of the full size just in case for those long trips.

#1 The GS does not weigh 4,600 lbs. it weighs more around 3,700 - 3,800 lbs.

#3 True taking weight off wheels is more effective than taking weight off the chassis, but reduced weight is reduced weight, and it helps either way ...
