Default Does anyone have 20x9.5 rear wheels with a 40 offset?

Im trying to figure out exactly what size wheels and tires to but for my 2002 GS430 for the rear. Does anyone here have 20x9.5 rear wheels with a 40 offset? Will this size wheel require any rolling of the fenders? I do not want to have to do any modifications to my fenders. I was planning on this wheel with a 265-30-20 or a 275-30-20. Will these tires fit on this size rim without having any clearance or rubbing issues? Once again, I am not willing to modify my fenders to do this. All help and pictures is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I have 20x10 on my car (02 GS430) with 275/35/20 on the rear. No Rubbig issues at all, no mods to fenders. I am not sure on the offset, i will check on it and let you know.

that's pretty weak setup. you can put 275/30 tires and won't have any rubbing at all

A 40 offset ought to give me a good size dish right? Im going w/ staggered rims. 20x8.5 in front with a 35 offset. So is there an even better rear wheel combo I could do w/o having to modify my wheel wells?

If I were to want to stick with only a 9.5" wide wheel...what offset would be perfect for deepest dish look possible w/o having to worry about rubbing/clearance issues?

i know you already sent me a pm but here are pics of mine.

Hypersilver/Staggered EXE Konvex
20x9 +37 Front & 20x10 +35 Rear

Dunlop Sport Maxx Tires

245/30/20 F & 285/35/20 R

KYB Shocks/Eibach Pro Kit Springs

NA/T Supra Brake Calipers Front

SP Cross Drilled/Slotted Rotors Front

I did have to mod my fender by shaving it. the +35 does stick out a little bit. But i am also running a pretty fat tire set up for that wheel

I love it... Henry is turning into a wheel snob!

Yes, 20x9.5 +42 is conservative.

For comparison, 20x10 +42 (shown by Yegor_khv) is 1/4" (6mm)
further outboard.

Should be a slam-dunk!

Ok, Im having difficulty understanding this. Tirereack reccomends a 20x10 with a 45 mm offset. Will this have a smaller lip and stick out farther than a 20x10 with a 40 mm offset, or will it be further in with a smaller lip? Sorry guys, this whole staggered thing is driving me nuts. My Lincoln LS has 20x8.5 all around and has the same offset.

Further in with a smaller lip. The lower the offset GENERALLY the larger the lip

lol, i am LEARNING from you bob

anyway, cyclemax, inside doesn't really matter much at this point, you can go a lot more inboard and still not hit anything

imho, if you have to stick with 9.5, i had +38 and had no problem with 275 tires at all. not anything lower than that, you might start to get pretty close to the fender lip

Well, I have decided to do a 20x10 wheel...but Im still undecided on the offset. Either 40 or 42mm. Im going to use 275/30/20 tires. Will I have clearance issues if I choose to do this set up with the 40mm offset instead of a 42? Thanks for everyone's help so far. This is my last question inregards to this I swear!
