Question wood steering wheel questions ???

there is some debate in the classifieds section (https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=295770 and dont try to buy it lol)about the fitment of the wood wheels here is the thread about it .. i have a 99 and i would like to know if i can convert to the newer 3 spoke wheel ? and what all i would need to do to complete it thanks shawn

lol. I was looking at it too. I hope someone that has done this can chime in and clarify stuff. I betcha the airbag is hella expensive.

Shawn, I have dwp 99GS3 also.
Anyways, I have the same wood steering wheel.

FYI, I re-used my old airbag since I couldn't find another airbag nor wanted to spend the extra money on it yet.

Fits fine. I do like that chrome L in the middle and that it's rounder too.

If you need pictures, I'll see if I can take some later.

I'll try to take some pics when I get home.

Looks good and luxurious, just like the wood steering except with your old airbag

However, I bought a dark tan thinking it would match with my gray, but it's off. I'll have to redo the leather to match it perfect though.

Fitment is perfect.

there's no knowing if that airbag is functional or is there? any srs lights?

here's what i was thinking why wouldnt it work its the same plug and wiring ?? and it odviously bolts up ?? Hmm...

Lexondubs - go to the bannags DIY page that has been brought back. He has a writeup with pictures on it for a wood steering wheel DIY.

Id be wary of this mod. Just because if u get into a wreck and you get hurt, insurance companies can deny your claim. Just a thought. I think the 98-00airbags are single stage while the 01+ is a dual stage.

but what we are talking about is getting the new wheel and keeping the existing air bag soo why wont it work ??
