Default S3 Magazine Feature GA3S

Well, I posted a few months back about the photoshoot that S3 was doing for GA3S, the one I kinda got in on! lol here it is! Notice my car was nothing like it is today. I think it is great since I can see how far I've gone within a few months with the car and it is also great that it was a 3000GT and Dodge Stealth Team photo shoot. Those guys are like family to me so they let me in on the shoot since I happened to be chillin with them that day.

And the printed interview:

Car Club Name:
Georgia 3000GT/Stealth, a chapter division of 3000GT/Stealth International [3Si.org]

Location(/Chapters):
We are the Georgia chapter of an international online forum that has taken in members of other states from all over the SouthEast to across the country.

How Many Members?:
93 members & 17 honoraries [out of state-ers that really should be in GA ]

Established when?:
Our first gathering was in 1998 @ an airport strip in Canton, GA. There were 8 cars present and 1/2 of them traveled to GA from other states!

Types of Vehicles:
Dodge Stealths and Mitsubishi 3000GTs. Of course, we have some members that have moved on in the platform, but haven't strayed from the group/club. Those cars range from beaters to high end sports cars to SUVs. We also have a few cars in our group that have never owned a 3/S, but love us anyways ;-)

Coolest thing you've ever seen done to a car:
Bret Brinkmann's experiment to his VR-4 to see if 3/Ss would benefit more from RWD as opposed to AWD. The RWD burnout that followed on a stock drive train was insane. He entered the burnout competition at Nopi Nationals in 2004 and we all thought he was going to win!

What advice can you give teams just starting out?
Don't give up. Even if your car is labelled as overweight or you only have a small amount of members. You get together for the cars, but you stay for the people.

What makes your team unique:
GA3/S holds social lunches, impromptu dinners and planned dinners, wrenching sessions, bi-yearly drag events, photo shoots, and mountain runs, as well as attends many other regional and national 3/S and non-3/S club meets, import car shows, auto cross events, road course events, and drag events. We draw numerous enthusiasts from the southeast to our affairs and even a few dedicated spectators from New York, Illinois, Texas and California. GA3/S has developed a reputation of being hospitable, successful, loyal and dedicated.

So I hear your club hosts a drag strip track day every so often, tell me about it:
The South East Track Day, www.southeasttrackday.com, is a bi-annual drag event that was born from a gathering of Mitsubishi 3000GT's and Dodge Stealth's in the Metro Atlanta area in 2001 who were looking for a place to legally race. We define our event as a gathering of many enthusiasts and higher end makes/models that caravan out to Reynolds, GA to tune, grudge match, and compete against others on the drag strip, with prizes being awarded to the top places in the Quick 8 Elimination, drive train classes and club classes.

This year's drag dates at Silverdollar are March 4, 2007 and October 14, 2007, respectively.

Shout Outs:
Our sponsors/friends that have helped our club and drag events grow; 3SX Performance, Kormex Trans Parts, Maximal Performance, and GTPro Performance Tuning. Our local members who tune and work out of their garages for other members; Armond Lemon, Richard Hopson of Barefoot Racing, and David Ford. And of course all of our fabulous members!
