Those are the sun roof drains. Pull them out and you will not be a very happy camper unless your car is never washed or never sees a glimpse of water.

I'm pretty sure that is the drain from the roof etc... for if/when water gets in. It's going to leave an open hole in the car for dirt/water/road grime to come in through. Secondly, it's a factory drain of some sort and obviously there for a reason, not just to look pretty. It would probably be a really bad idea to take that out. Why did you want it out if you dont mind me asking?

I thought you meant take them out permanently. I wouldn't take them out at all but if you just want to clean take some simple green from home depot and spray it in there then wipe it up. It's non-toxic and will help with the oil residue

Those are the sunroof drains. It's for when you accidentally leave the sunroof open thru a storm or whatever. It will help prevent water from going into the car. This only applies for the tilted open, and not if the roof is fully open(there's no magic net to catch water if the roof is open all the way). If the sunroof is closed, everything should be sealed and those drains are not gonna be doing anything. So, if you can trust yourself never to leave the sunroof tilted open then it should be ok to remove those
