Anyone has figure on how many GS 400 were made or arrived to US shores? I want to know for 98-00 model. Are they rare?

As much as I'm looking forward to picking up my 98 GS400, I would hardly consider them rare. You can certainly find the color and condition of the car you want if you search long enough.

Now rating the rariety of a tastefully modified GS4 is altogether different matter in my opinion.

A 2nd gen GS is not rare. On my daily commute, I see at least 5 of them, and that's just a 2 mile commute.

Eh, I don't usually see much of them around and my commute is like 30 miles... Well, I see more of the 300's than the 400 or 430's...

I see more of the 300's rather than the 400.. If there not a 400 than there a 430.. But like you said earlier its mostly the seniors driving them..

Back in 1998 when they first came out the new car sales person told me that 1 in 100 GS's would be a 400. I don't know if that was true or not, but that is what he told me.

Total GS sold in 98 was 30,622, increasing in the second, and stabilizing at 28,079 vehicles by 2000.

If it is true then, only about 300 GS 400 are made each year. That's kind of low....

if its 1 in 100 that were GS400, then theres probably 3,000 GS400, which is more reasonable.
