Default Custom X-Pipe w/ Resonators Removed + New Tips!

Hi Guys,

I know some of you don't go for the domestic V8 sound, but I have always wanted my GS4 to rumble like a true V8. So, the first step was to remove all three resonators. I also have Borla exhaust.

Well, since then, I decided to do a custom X-Pipe and change out the tips to a more aggressive angle cut that sticks out a bit. It's not for everyone, but I like it!

I will upload a video of the exhaust sound hopefully tomorrow. But for now, here are the pics...

First, here are some before pics with the original Borla tips.

And now...for the new tips...

Top View of both exhaust tips:

Side view closeup of one of the tips. Note they go all the way back to the muffler:

Finally, a couple of angled views:

Sorry for the glare, I was taking the pics at the end of the day after washing the car. Video of the sound hopefully will be up tomorrow.

This is the video with 3 stock resonators removed. I will try to upload a video showing the sound with the x-pipe to see if there is a difference.

The tips stick out a bit too far.

Sounds and looks great!!

What muffler tips are those? In the pics they look as if they are sticking out too far, however in this pic, they look just perfect :

How come you have a vid without the X-pipe already installed? Did you do the mod in two stages?

They look pretty good, they look somewhat like my RMM. I'm just not a fan of that domestic hi-power sound.

I think they look great aswell its just that are a little too low, so when you look from the top they look longer and maybe too far out. Maybe have the shop lift them a little more to sit fluer with the bumper? I love the work and teh sound is awesome with the res removed. Great job ,man

Thanks Guys! It was a two -stage mod. First, I just had the resonators removed. I didn't think it was loud enough, so I had the X-Pipe put in for more flow. Then, I decided I liked the angle cut on the tips as opposed to the oval ones from Borla so I had them replaced. They stick out on purpose and actually the pictures are not exactly taken at the same angle. The space between the tip and the rear bumper cutout is the same as before. The difference is that the Borla tips were wide horizontally but not vertically and they were only about 3 inches long and truly just tips on a small piping attached to the muffler. These tips are wide all the way around and they are long all the way back to the muffler so it looks like it sticks out at the bottom but I like that look. I intentionally wanted the tips to stick out like the 96-2000 Mustang GT's - kinda like a nice set of huevos ya know? I always liked that look instead of being flush to the rear bumper which looks a little tucked in. I know it's not for everyone, but I am happy.

I am going to try to upload the video today.

The unavoidable question... which type/diam. wheels-tires are those. It seems to be perfect balance. (offset)
