Default GS430 replacing tires, looking for quiet ones. Please Help!

My 17" tires on my GS430 have worn out at 12K miles as expected.

I called the Tire Rack and they said that the Bridgestone Turanza were the quietest they offer. They come with a 40K mile tread life and a Z-rating.

Has anyone tried these yet?
Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Quiet, 40K life and Z-rated doesn't compute. Mind you Z-rated just means you can go fast, doesn't mean they handle worth a damn.

Go with Toyo's or Yokohamas for less tire noise.

I wouldn't say the Toyo T1-s (haven't heard of 'plus') is ANY quieter than the Potenzas that came on my car.

My stock 16s came with Turanzas. They suck. Pretty quiet but the traction is a joke.

I have AVS dBs now. They're wider than before but alot quieter. I would say they're the quietest tires I've heard.

Wow - 12K mile and they are already worn down? This is what I have to look for with my 17's too. I am at 7K miles now.

I have always heard good things about the Bridgestone RE730 ALL SEASON Tires. Maybe it's time to get an all season tire even if not Z rated, so they can come in more handy during the winters here in NJ.

Those damn summer tires are great, but wear down too fast and are louder on the road too.

Anyone have any more opinions on the Bridgestone RE-730s?

Thanks for your help!

When I upgraded my 92 LS400 to 16" BBS I tried about three types of tires looking for quiet. Settled on the Turanzas and have sworn by them ever since. No complaints about mileage either. Have Turanzas on a 78 911 a 2000 T&C and a 2000 GS300, very pleased.

Stay with a summer tire if you want quiet and a Z rated tire is useless except for the few times it might give you bragging rights or unless you have access to the autobahn.

Default Has anyone used these tires?

Bridgestone RE730's, Bridgestone Turanza, or Yokohama AVSdB,

Which ones are good for a quiet smooth ride?

Do you know how fast they wear out?

Hi
I just put up a set of 235/50/17 firestone on my car. the ride is extremely quiet and comfortable. because the diameter is little bigger than the stock 235/45/17, you can save on your odometer too. The tire is ZR rated, so speed limit should be enough for GS
