Default Wood Dash Kit supplement

Fellow Club Lexus addicts,

Anyone have a link on the net where I can purchase a wood kit to supplement the existing wood grain interior?

I have a navigation system interior so I would need something for this setup.

Thanks a zillion,

Manuel

1998 GS400 (Cinnabar)
HAD some mods, but after thiefs (actually bastards sounds more appropriate) broke in...looks almost like stock...but at least they didnt take the whole car!

2SAVVY,

Thanks a lot. Price seems reasonable too.

Did your friend buy a kit for a GS400 as well? Was it pretty easy to install?

Manuel,

Yup he installed it himself just using a heatgun to help with the installation of the piece around the gauges and where the astray is in the front and yes it was on a GS4 too..

My dealership did my car and I think it looks great.. We didn't get the Navigation package up here in Canada for the 2000 model year but if you like I can post some pics of our GS with the woodkit if it would help..

Pictures with installation of wood kit would be great if not too much trouble for you.

Thanks,
Manuel

that wood trim kit looks SOOOOOOOOO much better on a beige interior...beige and dark red or brown go together well

but black and dark red or brown don't really mix too well in my opinion

if I had a black interior I would either get aluminum, carbon fiber, or dark smoke wood interior

...but again that's just my opinion, if you like it then go for it!

Nanotech,

I won't disagree with you on the wood kit looking alot nicer in a beige interior car but my objective was to bring some life to the interior of the GS and not make it look so dark and bland inside.. This wood kit does that in my opinion..

You're right, the black interior is very dark and uninviting sometimes...that's why I just stick with beige interiors.

I also don't think the wood on the gauge panels looks too good, I put my wood kit on all the pieces it came for except the gauge cluster....I just got a 2001 black gauge cluster with silver linning...looks nice with the rest of the interior.

Now all I need is a nice 3 peices wood steering wheel with e-shift AND that chrome Lexus symbol in the middle of the steering wheel!

Love the look of the beige interior but didn't like how it looked with the Spectra Blue on the GS at the when I ordered the car.. Besides I think the black holds up better to dirt/salt than the beige.. Just my 2 cents..

The 2001+ cars have a much nicer looking interior than the previous cars in my opinion.. By looking at how the SC's interior looks I just love the time they spent making it look sporty with elegance to spare!

Now lets hope the next iteration of the GS they don't make it look ugly.. The ES didn't do it for me when I saw it on paper but up close and in person its not that bad.. Same with the SC when I saw it on the net or in photos it looked weird but in person and behind the wheel it lives the moto "The ultimate pursuit of perfection" in my humble opinion!

2SAVVY,

Your pictures show that a piece of wood covers the cup holder. In the website you gave me before (with the navigation option) I do not see that piece identified as part of the kit. Is this something that was added later or does it come with the kit and is a website error by the vendor?

Manuel
