RI is worse, no tint is legal PERIOD.

I'd recommend Huper Optik. Stuff is awesome, hardly looks like it's tinted but still manages heat well and won't eff up the radio.

Its funny The place where I got my tint done, they dont offer any "special" tint like the ceramic or anything like that. Many people they dont even understand what that is. Plus I shopped around not exactly for the cheapest price but the quality reviews from others. They also told me that they are never asked. Plus in NY no tint is legal which is absurd I think.Anyways I got 20% happy as can be. I would think that 50% tint doesnt do anything, except like what the guys stated above, regular windows are 70% so that isnt much of a jump, probably unnoticeable in the daylight

I actually have 50% all around except the windshield and it is light but remember, the UV/ heat rejection properties are different than those of equal percentages of metallic tint. Ceramic tint typically offers better UV/heat rejection properties when compared to equal tint level of metallic tint. You can visit Llumar's website to see what I mean.

Of course, each person is different. Where one person might not care for anything about the uv/heat rejection and only care about how dark it looks, another person might not care of getting the darkest tint possible but the one with the best heat rejection property.

50% is good enough for me. It's not too dark where it will draw attention and where I can't see at night to back up my car but it is dark enough to know that the windows are tinited. Perfect.

Default Need help on tints for my GS

I'm going to get the GS tinted tomorrow finally and was wondering what would be a good percent to have on the windows. Since I don't know much about tints I don't know what would be good to have on a daily driver. I still want to be able to see at night, and don't want any trouble with the police.

So I would like to know what you guys have or would recommend. I appreciate it.

if u dont want police trouble, you almost shouldnt bother tinting....MOST of us have illegal tint including myself. i have 3% on the sides,50% on the whole windshield, and 30% on the rear.

BTW search please this has been talked about to death on what tint people like....which is really a personal preference

If your eye sights are good you can go limo tint. But you need to understand your State's regulations first before you can have the tints.

Huper optik drea

Its about $600, has amazing heat rejection. I had 2 layers of 40% drei on top of some charcoal 5% tint on my old ride. 120 deg az heat had no effect on me lol... Used to work at a tint shop that had a contact with a mercedes dealer.
