Hi there, welcome to CL. I see you're from the same state. My friend from Hartford who has a 2003 silver Civic has 33% on all the side windows and rear windshield, and to me it looks pretty dark and contrasts well with the body color. Although he's 2% over the legal limit, he never gets pulled over for the tint, and he has a sticker on one of the side windows handed by the DMV for the tint, which I believe is needed if you plan to put on any aftermarket tint in the state of CT.
So I guess what I'm saying is that 35% should look fairly dark for a silver car like yours, but make sure you go to a reputable tint shop that does quality work and warranties their tint. Good luck.

I'm also looking for tint for my new ride whhich is a Silver 2000 GS400. I had 35% tint on my old GS3 and did get pulled over by the state boys. I am now considering going with a 50% tint much lighter but still somewhat noticeable. Maybe something for you to consider???

IMO stick with the legal tint. For me 35% is dark enough and I don't get hassled for it. I've read the stock GS has 3% tint built into the windows, so you really get 32% tint.

What does the dvm thing say that was sent and why did ou have your doctor friend sign it?? What was it for exactly?? whats you tint % ?
Also for the person with35% that is on the front 2 windows and 18% on the back and rear???
do you have a side view of the car and not on a angle directly from the side?? i want to see how well you can see into the car!
Here is a pic of my little ol' car... no major mods yet...Just a self chromed grill

I think anything on the front window (except maybe for the little strip on top) is illegal...right?
Anything less that 35% (for sedans) in Hawaii is illegal....there's another set of rules for trucks and SUVs.
If you got UV protection in the glass (slight yellow tint)...and you chose a silver (mirror-like reflective) tint....it will actually look yellowish....not the look you wanted.
Just stick with a smoke type tint that won't fade.
