Default Gs470?

Anyone in here been thinking larger cubic? How cool would it be get from a 4.0 liters to 4.7 liters? Its possible and only increase 82 extra lbs of engine weight. Yes, I am talking about the 2uzfe Tundra Iron block swap. I am currently doing it now and result is pretty good.

Here is a picture of iron block (black color) with SC400 parts

Here are two pictures of my 4.7 conversion with mock (dead turbos)

It would be very cool to see a GS400 bump up to GS470. Who would be the first?

I've thought of it.

..Just dont have the fundings Thought ideally i'd want to use the 1uz-fe's cylinder head while using the 2uz-fe block.

cool idea. could you just replace the 1uz in a GS400 with that block and let her rip?

I also think a LS1 and 6 speed mt frankensteined into a GS would be killer. can't believe nobody has ever done anything like that......GS570

WOW! Do let us know how it turns out

I love the 4.7 v8 in my GX and jokingly told myself "Wouldn't it be nice to have this in my GS

noob question... what do you do for engine management? the oem ecu for that engine or standalone?

i wonder what they would say when i go in for my mandatory emissions inspection/testing and they see that thing in the engine bay

First of all... smog people won't know the difference between the two engines. It looks the same (assuming you paint it silver color) To operate this monster, your stock ecu should able to compensate for the .7 increase liter. Basically everything will be the same except the block. With stock compression and a good torque converter, you can peel off pretty much anytime....

The GS is too front heavy as it is compared to say a BMW 540/545. 80lbs difference? I doubt the finished product will amount to that. You will need to compensate for the front weight bias. Will you be relocating the battery in the rear of the car?

I doubt weight distribution will be such a factor. A factory GS400 has a weight distrubution of 53.7%/46.3% (F/R). Assuming the 2uz-fe weighs 100lbs more than the 1uz-fe, the new weight distrubution would be 54.9%/45.1%. Of course this is all theoretical. A turbo kit for a GS400 would probably weigh an additional 80lb+ anyways. You sacrifice a bit of handling, but you sure gain awesome low end power

I weighted both short blocks and the weight difference is 82 lbs.

I was going to say the same thing. If you add a turbo or supercharger kit, you add about that much weight anyway. Please let us know how this turns out.

I think my combo is at least 160 lbs (iron block and turbo system) heavier then stock.
