Milage? or Speed? J/K
I'm almost at 90K, it looks like you put more miles on car than me
You're talking about TIMING BELT JOB, I have done it 2 months ago, nice price of $880.00 at Bredemann Lexus in Glenview.
Yeah, i know that feeling, 1G less in your wallet makes it look like slice of sandwich meat, but there is upside too, i strongly belive that your idle will go up a bit so you dont have to use A/C anymore, mine improved alot...

Hey Jake. As you know, it was so nice outside today, and the car just wouldn't go any slower. I'm not sure what I was doing wrong.
So did that $880 cover everything (timing belt, water pump, plugs, full 30k service including all fluids -- trans, diff, oil, radiator flush, etc.)? I was thinking about buying all the parts through Sewell and then having the dealership just charge me for the labor, but if that price covered everything, then maybe it's not even worth it.

you might try shopping around at places outside of the dealer, there is a shop nearby me that works on a lot of lexus' that i took my car to. they did the timing belt + drive belt + waterpump for around $400.

Whole timing stuff, no 30K service. When i mentioned my own parts, they refused to work on it, so i managed to get 10% off parts they used and 10% off the labor. Turned out pretty nice tho....i'm very satisfied, since Bredemann Lexus used to be my parent company to Bredemann Toyota (where i worked as you already know)
Anyway, you have a trusted Lexus tech. at Woodfield Lexus , i'm not sure tho...
If you can bring your own parts and be charged for labor only, that sounds very tempting as well, but yeah Eric, your time is coming man, GL on it

I hit that 90k this past week as well on my '99 GS4. I live in the Chicago area and I have been pricing the TB prices. It seems like the Lexus dealer in Westmont seems to have decent pricing. I was given a price of around $500 ($479 to be exact). Of course it would be a couple hundred more if I change the water pump. Everyone else seemed to be $150 or more higher than the Westmont Lexus dealer. I guess I will be going there soon. Trying to wait until after the holidays.

at 98k I just had the timing belt done and a LOT of other stuff...... for $2500!!!
timing belt + pulleys, tensioners, gaskets, and seals, waterpump, thermostat, radiator flush, tune up, PCV valve, front struts, front lower control arms, diff flush, oil change. All OEM stuff. They said the tranny fluid was fine.
I Just got the car cheap........and knew it would be rough in the beginning, but damn!

I've had both my LS and GS serviced only at Woodfield. Their prices arent the best but the service is I think. About a week ago the LS needed front lower control arms and all its fluids changed. $700 for everything but with 165K miles its the first real investment I had to put into that car, so not bad at all. The service writer remembered me from the last time I was in there in July and remembered that I wanted the IS as a loaner but they were all out of them. This time he called me up and asked me if I wanted him to hold on to a IS for me, so I had some fun with the 250AWD for a few days since we dropped off the car on a Sat and didnt pick it up till Monday eve.
