TC vs. 3.92 Gears - Better Mod
I read a lot of threads about the TC's and that they are a great mod and it's a night and day difference. I also understand that the TC's are really reliable. Either the PI or the Lextreme, they are a very sound mod. I'm thinking about getting a TC with a 2800 stall. BTW I have a GS430.
I also read a lot on the gears as well. I've read that the 4.27 are the gears of choice or that show the greatest difference. I like my top end so I'm would go with the 3.92's. I have a rear pumpkin from my old GS3. I had the 4,27's in and I didn't notice an increase in gas consumption. I've read that a lot of people choose the 3.76 with good results; therefore, I think the 3.92's would also yield very good performance results. Considering I already have the gears you would think it's a no brainer.
I only want to know a couple of things. Which mod has the bigger bang for the buck; which one would have the best performance gain. I know that none of these mods will produce any additional HP. Also, how would the car perform if both mods were installed? Would the car be quick or would it just rev up really fast and not yield much performance at all; what do you think? Thanks.

Personally, I'd go for the 3.92 over the 3.73. This is because I like 1/4 mile sprints rather than triple digit highway speed. Your mpg will go down slightly more than with the 3.73 (like i care). Add the torque convertor and they would flow nicely together. I think that most people here would go with 3.73 but if you already have the 3.92 go 4 it. There are a few threads on this, I am just to lazy to search right now. Good luck
