i live in NY..its not exactly cold enough during the day to be using these yet, but a few of the past nights i turned them on for myself/passenger... is it just me or did i notice that the seats get warmer in relation to how high your heat is set at? i mean i barely felt them if the climate was set at 65 but when it was set to 80 you could definitely tell they were on.... maybe its just in my head, i have a 1998 gs400, anyone care to verify?

I'm assuming it still has been warm where you live, but if the temperature outside is above a certain level (don't know what the threshold is), the heated seats will not turn on, despite the heated seats light coming on.
The problem with your door not locking is the fact that your door actuators are not working properly, a common fault found in the GS' cars, do a search and you will find a lot of info on this issue.

I can't seem to find any threads on what the issues could be when the lights for the heated seat switches do not come on. The fuses are fine. Although, in my pass kickpanel, there is a wire that is going into the pass side heated seat fuse...not sure what that has to do with anything....

I wish I could get any heat at all. The switches are not even lighting up. Fuses look ok, but I've been told sometimes fuses can look ok but be bad. So I will replace them. Any idea as to why anyone would splice a wire in with the fuse? what kind of accessories would be hooked up to the seat heater? I'm wondering if that too could be a cause for no heated seats.

They wanted to send the power from that slot to the other end of the wire to power something else.
Did you try to swap fuses with the same rating?
