Default Gas Mileage

Well, Its really difficult to find a nice, luxurious, powerful car, that also has decent gas mileage...Is there any way to improve the mileage in these cars?

You can't really do much to the car to get better gas mileage, except change your driving habit (i'll let all that maintenance stuff slide).

If there was a way to increase gas mileage all around, I think everyone would have done that mod by now.

What about like cleaning out your fuel injectors? Does that help out at all?

that helps, only if it's already dirty? I'm assuming the car aleady maintained. If not, there could be a long list to troubleshoot

perregine4, what kind of mileages are you getting?

driving style is the key. Light acceleration form stops, passing and merging. Cruise control is a must. I have driven with a heavy foot and 75-85mph on the highway for almost all of my driving years. Have recently made a big change. 55-62 with cruise on the highway where I spend 75% of my time. Results 400 miles to a tank, give or take 10 miles. This equates into approx. 24 mpg. Not too bad for a rear drive, automatic V8 weighing 3800+ with gas in it and more with driver. Oh and 2 to3 3/4 to full throttles for a few seconds per tank full to keep me smiling.

If you have Costco membership, they do it for you at their tire center for free!
