06/21/2006 Rumble
We had our annual rumble last night, or should I say "day". It's Summer Solstice time up here, 20 hours of daylight. Every year on June 21st the local car clubs all gather at one location to "Rumble". This year we gathered at Mirror Lake again. The winning club gets to keep the trophy and exhibits it at their meets through out the year. Winner is determined by the % of it's paid up members that show up. So, if your club has 2 people and only one shows then 50% of your club was in attendance. I, being an old VW guy, signed in as member of the Artcic Aircooled club, although I belong to 2 other clubs. Since my VW isn't finished I took the GS. Couldn't park with VW's so I was placed with the bagged trucks with tilting beds Not many people have seen GS's up here and I was asked many times if it was an '05 or '06 because it was so clean. And no, I haven't installed the Bilstein PSS's yet Here's a few pics:

Mirror Lake, you can't see 'em but there's float planes parked at each home:

Kharisma: It is a good time for all, plenty of free food and great folks.
Bluelex: Yep, the GS is not in it's world with the car guys up here. But, no-one cares about the cars too much, just show and enjoy the comradery. Heck, even a brand new Saturn gets attention and question about mpg's.
vicestan: Here's what happened to the last bear that got close to my GS

Lexus_Kid: No more of the GS, plenty of the other cars. Got to go to work now, will post some more tonight.
BlueLex: Seasons on Blacks and Browns. I shot this 6 1/2 footer black while on a moose hunt. Some of the tastiest game I've ever had. Mmmmm, drool.
AJ: Thanks, Smitty's van is a huge hit and has won 3 trophies in various events. But it won't stand a chance against my 58 Vert when it's completed . But hey, that's a different forum.

Uploaded a few more pics of various other cars at the Rumble to my Gallery. For those who have never searched the Gallery, use the small search just below your username, (between home and profile). Search by username GWELEX and set the category to Club Lexus Member Forums. Enjoy!

I love threads started by you because I enjoy the sceneries
They are really relaxing, almost sedating
Yeah, it's seems like it's mostly domestics and no hint of japanese at all.
Do you get asked "What car is that" all the time ??????
Wait until you do the lambo doors and the bag suspensions and you'll fit right in
That bear

GS3TEK: Thanks, Alaska is a site to behold, especially from the air. American Muscle, early customized rods are the sought after choices for most here. Most know the Lexus name but that's about it, no clue as to the quality and decent performance they provide. I do have a list of "wants" for the GS, but the bug is getting the majority of my funding at this time. Here's a pic of the motor when it was on the bench:
