Also, not sure if you guys saw my post but you dont have to buy a new cluster to get the white look. A vendor in the Group Buy section was selling a kit with the "bulb type" things to replace the green and you could get white, blue, red, etc. They also sold it for the radio and climate controls so all would match.

I assume this is a relatively easy DIY mod?h

With a couple of exceptions here it seems to be an 01+ changeover, 98 GS3 w/nav has green, 02 GS430 and nav has white, imo the white looks much better.

What da hell? lol
I didn't know these were CCFL backlit. I always thought they were EL plates. Well, in that case it doesn't seem like such a big deal to change out the backlight color.

This is good new for all of you guys

How do you define "doesn't seem like such a big deal"? Whenever I tinker with something, things usually go drastically wrong.

For those of you who have done this, is it just a matter of removing the gauge bezel to gain access to the lights or is it more involved than that? Please "enlighten" me.

Heh, ok let me rephrase. What I meant to say is that it won't cost you as much to buy a CCFL backlight unit VS. buying a whole new gauge cluster, and getting it reprogrammed to your previous mileage at the dealer(also costs $).

I haven't done it on my car yet since it has white gauges already. From the pictures it looks like you just pull the old gauge faces off, replace the backlight, and then reassemble everything. I'm sure if you emailed the seller of the backlights...he will give you a more detailed instruction set. Then you can decide if you want to proceed with the mod according to your "tinkering" ability

Someone needs to post some white guages to make sure we are all talking about the same color.

Do the green guages look as green as the radio and hvac controls on a non navi car? Mine sure doesnt.

Look at the first page, first post of this entire thread. I posted up a picture of the gauges in my car.

If you look at Page 2 , Post #27. Theres a picture of the green color gauges.
