Default P0153 = Oxygen Sensor

The check engine light on my 1999 GS300 came on about a month ago. The code is P0153. I replaced Bank 2 Sensor 1with a universal sensor (WALKER brand) . That did not work. Then I replaced it with another new Bosch universal sensor. Still the problem exists. When I reset the check engine light in the evening the light is off and there is no code when I go to work in the morning - a distance of 18 miles. However when I return from work the light reappears with the same code. I did check for exhaust leaks - couldnt find any. Now I am desperate. I bought the car new in 1999 - has 114000 miles. Never given any problems before. Now I am desperate. Please help. Thank you.
