Noise from muffler cover
I'm not sure what the name of this thin piece of metal wrap around top half of the muffler.
Today, I noticed a high pitch noise while parked and engine running. It sounded like very high pitch wind whistle or computer fan noise.
Anyhow, I was checking around the source of the noise and just pushed up this piece of metal, and it folded back a little very easily like a foil.
Now, I don't hear any noise, but not 100% sure if this was the problem.
Did anyone had any noise issue with this part? What is the purpose of this piece? It doesn't look like it serves any purpose. Has any one taken this out?
