You guys have a really nicely setup forum here.
I'm a regular on Maxima.org, but lately their server has been horrible!

I was coming back from quite a way north of the city on I85 the other day at about 80 and a Maxima came by at about 90. I pulled out behind him and we cruised for a while, then I pulled by him at 100 and he kept up and then I put my foot down to 120 and left him behind. As I slowed down he caught up and eventually I let him by and we had a friendly wave.
The Maxima has always had a jewel of an engine. Too bad about the cheesy bar rear suspension, but that's one of the ways they keep the cost down.

The Solid rear beam with a Rear sway bar is great on smooth pavment, but as soon as it gets bumpy in the curvies, it turns bad.

I saw this surfing around,,,,,,
Track Performance:
0 - 60 Acceleration (sec): 6.3
1/4 Mile (sec @ mph): 14.7@96.6
60 - 0 Braking (ft): 117
200 ft. Skidpad (g's): No Data
600 ft. Slalom (mph): 61.5
Acceleration Comments: Throughout all of the quarter-mile runs, the time varied by only .26 seconds, showing that it was a very consistent performer. It was frustrating to be playing with different parameters like launch rpms and shift points in order to get the best times and getting little to no results. The best run was achieved by launching at 1,500 rpm and shifting as close to redline as the manual action of the shifter allowed. Shift performance is a little slow at full throttle upshifts, with the shifts from first to second manually being done a little before 6,000 rpms to actually have the shift occur at the 6,400-rpm redline before hitting the rev limiter. One other note is that the ECM power button did not offer any improvement in performance in our testing, but it is suspected that once the computer senses full throttle acceleration, it goes into that programming automatically.
What does everyone think about the ECM Power button Deal?????????
True or False?

The power button does make a difference on my GS400. My roommate and my brother both have modified Nissan Maxima. One of the Maxima runs 14.7 on the quarter mile track in NJ. When I don’t have the power mode on we are even until 117mph. When I have power mode on I take him easily.

I am also a regular at Maxima.org But I am getting ready to part with my Maxima and ready to get another Lexus. I had a 95 GS300 in 98 and let me tell you by far the best car ownership I ever had. I plan to get a Lexus GS400 used and mod the crap out of it ( SC,exhaust, dropped, multimedia) or brand new GS430 and just drop , big a$$ rims, intake & exhaust.
Does anyone here have a Gs400/430 with a SC? if so what kinda 1/4 mile times does it turn? Thanks everyone.
