Hey, I just noticed very recently that a lot of you guys dont have the pinstripes on the car. I have the 05' model and they are painted on. Personally I think these pinstripes look awesome only becaues they are the painted type. On the other hand the stick on vinyl types look ugly.

I have been looking thru the pages here and it seems like all of the cars I have seen do not have pinstripes. I know it will only work on a white, silver, or light colored car. I don't think they would do white pinstripe on black, that would look hideous.

Here are some pix of my car. YES I KNOW. It needs rims and drop very baaddly.
Look at that wheelgap in the first pic lol.

i personally like the clean lines without the pinstripe. If it was painted on I guess I would have to live with it but if it was vinyl I would have taken it off the first day. Luckily my GS didnt have either

i have a pin stripe on mine. Even has a small painted lexus emblem on the front fenders.

Pinstrips don't flow with the 2nd gen GS in my view.

Unfortunately yes they do. My Black Onyx GS had a tan pinstripe on it when I bought it. It looked painted on but was actually a decal that could be easily removed.

Needless to say, that was one of my first modifications in 1999

I think it looks good on white but white only. When you see a white background your mind automatically starts to search for something 'non-white' and other than the chrome that only leaves dents or imperfections. The pin strip breaks up the canvas. The only issue I see is the actual color of the strip and matching that up to rims, tint, or interior.

It's funny, I had the dealer put pinstriping on my Rav4 when I bought it, and I'm not a fan of pinstiping . I saw one in the showroom in Silver with silver and purple pinstriping, and it looked very nice. I ordered my truck with that same scheme. I guess it depends on the color of the vehicle and the scheme of the pinstriping.

I have them on my white GS, painted not vinyl. I had considered removing them, and if I ever decide to go to a rear 3 piece spoiler I may because the outer pieces of the spoiler would likely cover the striping- but for now the striping remains and it's actually a nice touch IMO.

Got one... its a goldish color on the 2004 Parchment Pearl Color.

there was a pinstripe painted on my DWP gs.. when my front fender got knicked up and i put it in the shop to get that fixed, i had them remove the pinstriping off the whole car...they were able to buff it off without having to reclear anything and it looks flawless...it didnt even leave a "wear" line underneath from where the line had obviously covered the paint from the effects of the sun for so many years...im so much happier with the stripe gone the gs looks 100x cleaner than it ever did before. there are so many nice body lines on a gs that i feel any type of pinstriping draws away from that

I have the pinstripe which I am not overly fond of. The one on Joe's car looks really cool because it has the Lexus logo in it. I wish mine had it.

Mine came with a gold pinstripe, which i later removed myself.
