hey Kharizma, couple of questions for you on this project...

1. Did you spray the calipers or did you paint them by brush.
2. Did you remove the calipers for this, or did you just paint/spray them while they were on the car.
3. Did you get someone to paint the hats, or did you do it?
4, Lastly...where did you get the decals for the front and rears?

Thanks for your reply...Im hoping to do this on my brakes soon.

1. i used 500 degree black hi-temp. engine enamel. the paint that you brush on takes 24 hours to cure and also chips off faster (another guy got his calipers painted this way the same time i did mine)

2. the calipers were left on the car and sprayed.

3. yes, the hats were painted by my homeboys that own/work at an aftermarket shop (it wasn't hard though) they just taped everything but the hats off and painted both the front and back)

4. the "lexus" decals were purchased ahead of time by another member on here.. he said he'd always have some decals available, so if you'd like i'll look up his username again and send it to you so you can order some.

also, for painting, we cleaned everything really well by using a wire brush and wd-40/brake cleaner. then we put 3-4 coats of black down, then put the caliper decals on (which was white) and then put 3-4 coats of clear on it (the clear is 500 degree hi-temp. clear engine enamel) - i just got both paint from walmart ...

good luck, can't wait to see how yours turn out!

they're the HP Racing EVO's.. 19 x 8.5 front and 19 x 9.5 rears and my homeboy upgraded my tires for me for free so altogether the wheel and tire package was 1900 after tax and that included mounting and balancing.

I how yours came out and its exactly the look i am going for however. I understand that the decals off motogfx.com is the way to go since they are heat resistant. And according to my research i should have no problem fitting the is300 decals on the stock 2003 gs430 calibers however which do i need the purchase to get the rear L logo. ? Do i order one of the one for the newer models and just cut it out or.....? Would highly appreciate your help!!!! im on my way to autozone ow to pick up my g2 paint and restore kit!
