Default The GS400 is a small car...

Not realy, but it feels like it from the driver seat.

I went to test drive the GS400 and the driver seat feels smaller than my Acura legend. In the GS400, the headrooms seems a bit small. My head was almost touching the roof, while in my legend, the headroom is comfortable enough for me. The legroom also feels smaller than my legend. Maybe it's just me, but the GS400 seems smaller from the driver side (everywhere else is the same, or a tad whee bigger than my legend).

Its not the GS' fault that you have an abnormally large head. Also known as ECES or Extra Cranial Extension Syndrome.

LOL - Obviously, just kidding!

The old Legends were awesome cars with a very nice layout. Specs show the GS is slightly bigger (I think, just glanced). Maybe its just getting the seat adjustment and height all setup for your melon (j/k of course on the melon).

Kind of interesting that when I was shopping for my GS4, the serious competition was the then new CL S type. But I wound up with my noggin planted up against the roof in that car. The GS was much roomier. Full disclosure - 6'1' tall.

I'm 6'3" and don't have any headroom issues.

Not even in the back seat...though I was kinda drunk at the time.

The interior is a little more claustrophobic in some ways, though, because of the way the instruments and console extend into the cabin. Coming from a '98 Camry, that was a big difference. My brother described it as not so much getting into the car but as putting it on.

There's a thought... I should go to the dealer showroom when I'm trashed to see what it feels like from the drunk passenger perspective.

It might also help with decision-making in the car-buying process. German juries once decided one's fate while sober and then decided again while drunk. If the verdicts were the same, then they were reassured that they had arrived at the correct verdict.

The GS is small... when it's parked next to a BMW 7-series, Rolls Phantom, or a Maybach...

The GS is definitely tight on headroom. I modified the driver's seat and picked up ~1 inch. I'm 6' 2".

You tall guys must have really short legs, or longgggggg necks! I'm 6'4" and have no problems with head room in my GS430. Did you adjust the seat ( it lowers also besides going back and forth ) because that will make a significant difference in head room.

Try seating in an E39 5-series. Your GS will seem a lot roomier! I am only 5'9 but in my bimmer, I don't know where to put my knees!

While my wife's E320 was in the shop (warranty work) over the weekend, I had the illustrious duty of driving a MBZ C240 around. Yuck. I like the Benzos, but this thing was a piece. No legroom, no lateral legroom, and very little headroom. I'm only 6' flat and had troubles, mostly with the lateral legroom, as there is no where to put your legs. A one legged person would love this car.

Funny how my wife drove my Lexus while I was driving her loaner MB.
