No mods. Maybe looking at decent summer performance rubber that's about it. You will never get your money out of these if you ever have to sell, so I'm trying to be good.
Whoa. I think you may have overpaid for your timing belt, water pump, brakes. Was this done at a dealership? But I am jealous that you have a GS430 :-)

$1900 is 3x the amount of money for that job man, I paid $1600 for timing belt, new lifters, valve adjustment, and valve cover gaskets at the dealer!!!! Your timing belt at the dealer should be roughly around $6-$675

Not to mention Insurance, Registration, Gas, and Tickets! Lol jk don't think these can be considered.
But I'd say I've dropped about $15k more or less for mods and maintenance combined.
The car was $11k 4yrs ago. So about $25k total.
Not unreasonable to sell for $15k I'd say.
I mean its only got 113k mi on a 98 400.

Yeah it was expensive. Toyota store. In my area there aren't too many import shops so it's a bit of a monopoly. But remember that differential, transmission, brake, power steering fluids were replaced. Coolant of course too because of the timing belt change.

See my post just before this. If you're in a big city it's different than in a smaller place. I don't need lifters or adjustment and no leaks so I guess it all evens out. I won't be spending any more money on the car as I put on miles. Tires maybe.

No need to feel bad. Only feel bad if you spend too much on your car and can't make rent/mortgage. Lol

put me in that 40k and up category........I would be completely disgusted if I added up the totals from the multiple times I have redone the drive train in this car. I have spent more on transmissions alone than most have spent on their total build......and im not saying that in a proud way!

Haven't kept count but i wouldn't think i'm far from the 40k and up mark. I always hear/feel something after every time I push it or when I drive it and it gets dropped off to be repaired or rebuilt. lol.
