Default engine tick in my gs4...

ever since i bought my gs400, i've noticed a very quiet engine tick...my car is a 99 gs4 and i bought it with 82K...it was listed at $15,995. i used the sound against the dealer to get them down to $14,995. then, they gave me $1500 for my beater trade in (87 bmw 3 series with 177k miles), which i used to buy an extended warranty. so, i basically got my car for about $15500 after everything.

anyways, the tick has been there from the start. it is a consistent sound with engine speed, ticking faster or slower depending on how hard i'm stomping on the gas. i proceeded to have the serpentine and timing belt replaced at the local toyota dealership for $400...however that did not solve the problem...

is this sound potentially fatal for my car, or should i just think of it as wear and tear of an engine that has settled in?

That knocking is normal, I was told by a lexus tech that its the fuel injectors and since it gets louder when u press the gas then its conclusive b/c the fuel injectors speed up so dont worry
