Default Can we remove the stopper behind the accelerator???

I never really looked at it before, but i realized it was there today. Can we actually remove that rubber looking stopper that sits behind the accelorator? thinking that if i can remove that, i can press the accelerator down further = faster car?

I'm pretty sure it's there to prevent the gas pedal from getting stuck on the carpet.

Wouldnt be wise unless you want to go full throttle into a house like some kid on the wrx forum who claims the gas pedal got stuck.

dude,if the pedal moves 4 inches total stock and you can get another inch out of it then that must be worth about 75hp! sweet, why didn't I think of that?

As long as your throttle cable is tight, then you will already be at WOT. Anything beyond that and you will just be bending linkage or stretching the cable or worse.

Just have someone floor the gas (with the engine OFF !) and look at your engine throttle position to verify that the throttle is wide open.

I don't know why (and I mean no disrespect to koreanpers), but this thread reminds me of that scene in Spinal Tap where they're talking about the fact that they can turn the volume on their speakers up to 11.

eactly, if you are already at WOT, how can you get WOTer? it's there for some other reason

i have seen people putting stopper for stuff like clutch or so, but not for the gas

Exactly my point.

"You see, most blokes will be playing at 10. You’re on 10, all the way up, all the way up...Where can you go from there? Nowhere. What we do, is if we need that extra push over the cliff...Eleven. One louder." DiBergi: "Why don’t you just make 10 louder and make 10 be the top number, and make that a little louder?" Nigel (after taking a moment to let this sink in): "These go to 11."
