How to remove the subwoofer in 98 gs4?
I have the stock Nakamichi system and it sounds pretty good for a stock system but the sub just don't cut it. At low volumes or listening to music with not much bass, it sounds ok but gets terrible when it's turned up. I'm thinking of replacing the sub with another but was wondering how would I go about removing it. I know whatever I'm going to replace it with has to be a free-air sub but hopefully I can find a better one that the stock one.
Also, whenever I'm on my cellphone I get static from the stereo that sounds kinda like morse code. This happens with the radio and cd. It doesn't happen all the time but gets annoying after awhile. I remember reading somewhere here that it was a poor design. Could the later model gs400/430 solved this problem. If so, maybe I can swap out mine for a newer one.

if you're only swopping out the sub and using the factory amp, you're not going to get much improvements. if you adding a seperated amp to power the sub, it will be night and day but it requires more time and money.
try using the search function, lots of info on this subject.
