You may want to contact a wood shop that makes steering wheels, send them your shifter as a sample for them to better match.

Kia,
Thank you for your interest in American Stitches. For your 1998 Lexus GS300, you are looking at $451 for a wood/leather conversion. What I would need for you to do is, send in your steering wheel (unfortunately I do not have that core in stock), and also any wood piece from your car if it currently has any for us to be able to match.
Turn around time is approximately 12 business days, from the time we receive your steering wheel in the door, to completion. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Also, if you have not had a chance, please visit our website for pictures of steering wheels we have done.
Best Regards,

many people say they don't like the feel of the wood wheels. I love mine. If I only had e-shift and radio controls on it...... And that is also why you can't just put a GS430 wheel on a 300.

loaner wheel
There are loaner wheels out there. I have one but another member is useing it right now. Also you should look into maybe a diferent pattern of wood if you are going to do something custom, like Blackwood like Gammalex.
Let me know if you want a loaner wheel

American-Stitches
I was reading this post with interest because I just sent my steering wheel (2001 GS300 with e-shift) to American-Stitches a couple weeks ago for the factory match wood conversion. They are charging me $400 plus $10 for UPS. I'm very anxious to get it back because they still don't have a core, so my car is sitting in the garage unused. Thankfully, I have backup transportation.
I will post pictures of the new steering wheel when it arrives.
