There are 2 different types. Did they compare it to the SO2's or the SO2 Pole Positions? There is a difference between them.

I'm certain their differences aren't noticeable under short term tire testing conditions. The Poles have a special wet traction enhancing compound on the inner layers, so the benefits shine through only after the tread has worn off to some extent.
