I was about to order a TRD grill that will no doubt have the surround painted to match my silver 99 GS4.

I was about to order from Carson's, good man that Steve, but I was wondering if the mesh was identical between the two TRD grills?

TRD grille has the CF surround
TRD Japan grille is painted, silver mesh

One person said yes they are the same, another said that they are not. So, I'm now unsure!
Is the mesh the same???


Also, as a possibility since my car is silver, I hadn't made up my mind about whether to have a black mesh or silver mesh. Is there silver mesh (wire) under that carbon grill?
Seems like I'd be better off ordering the silver mesh and MAYBE painting black, than I would be to order the carbon one and trying to get the black off! What do you think?? (and how much would it suck to have to then repaint the mesh black if I liked it better!!

Mesh is the same. If you don't like u can paint. VVti has painted his carbon fiber mesh.
