Question '00 GS400 nomenclature?

someone help me out here? what are all those letters and numbres that go along w/ my car???

'00 is the year 2000 in case you didn't figure it out.

400 is the engine (4 liter v8)

i know don't have a lot of posts... but come on!! sheesh! give me some more credit... i DID buy a great car in the first place...

someone has is as their sig. maybe it's the first part of vin... a bunch of weird letters and numbers....

"53XYJ326546" something like that.... who's the pro here?

Then I'm not sure what you're asking (it's not exactly clear from your post ) .... please expand a little.

Are you talking about the engine designation like 1UZFE, 2JZGTE, that sort of stuff?

Or was Renato talking about how to breakdown what the numbers in the VIN stand for? That is, some sections of the VIN are the manufacturer, the model of car, year, options, and serial numbers.

Need more clarification. . .

the 1UZFE = V8 4.0 liter motor in 98-00 GS4
2JZGTE= Inline 6 turbocharged motor which may be found in >94Supra or in certain models of GS (ARISTO in Japan)

In short they are just engine names

I think he means "JZS160" or "JZS161"

I believe the 00 is JZS160. I know that the 99 is a 160. It says so on my door vin. :X
