Angry Problems, problems and guess what? more problems!

Last time I was at the dealer, they told me that they did not hear anything unusual. Tell me if you hear something strange in this video,
(sorry, the 1st video is too short, I pressed stop by accident)

this noise lasts for about 1 - 2 minutes, on cold start. Basically every morning....

Here is another noise I'm getting lately. This is the automatic parking brake.
Is this normal, or am I being paranoid ?

I don't know about the cold start but the parking brake is normal... Sounds a little loud so I turned my auto parking brake off

I always had it on auto, but lately it got so loud that I had to turn it off as well.

The cold start sounds like it may be an idler tensioner starting to squeal a little. Parking brake sounds normal I guess but have never listened to it outside the car. When I bought my used GS the service history showed the EM brake motor was replaced. I took it off auto mode and only do it manually now just to hopefully save the motor a little longer.

Sniip3r,

sounds like you may need some lube on a few pulleys. How many miles on her and where do you live (climate-wise)?

The parking brake issue sounds a little loud to me as well, but I also removed mine from the auto position.

Maybe the motor wore out, because I always had it on auto for 3 years ? I'll have to speak to the service guys at Lexus, maybe they'll replace it under the warranty.

You may be right, I might just need some lube. I'm in NY, the weather here is all over the place. The car has 36K miles.

Yea that doesnt sound normal at all. My parking brake does not sound that loud at all and I park my car in a garage which should echo louder. Bring those vids to your dealer and have them check the problem again, they may need to keep it overnight to hear it.

It sounds like a noise some older cars make when it is damp/rainy outside.

My parking brake does not make that noise. I'm guessing it just needs something simple, like adjusting or lubrication.

Since the cold start noise only lasts a short time and only during a cold start it may be coming from something like a pump that is used for a short period of time at cold start to send warm/hot exhaust air back to the engine to help reduce the amount of time the engine must operate in a rich air/fuel mixture. If so, maybe the pump needs to be replaced or the bearing needs to be lubricated or replaced.

Sounds like a tensioner pulley is going bad.

My parking brake doesn't make any noise. Sometimes when I get out it creaks once but nothing major.

My car doesn't make any noise upon start up, ever. It does sometimes idle down like it wanted to die though.

I really hope it fails already because by the time I get to Lexus, the car is quiet and they don't hear anything.

That's how mine used to be.... It would just make this creak and that's it.. Now it sounds like the motor is going bad.

My parking brake on the GS never made any noise, and it doesn't on the LS either...

Definitely sounds like a bad tensioner pulley.

Do you all mostly leave your parking brake in auto mode?
