Default What dealer only settings should I have changed?

Hi all,

Heading to the dealership tomorrow to get a full rundown on my GS(just picked it up a week ago). I am going to have them change a few dealer only settings while I am there, like all windows and sunroof down by holding unlock.

Any other dealer only custom settings you think I should have changed?

Anyone know if you can have the power trunk set to close from inside the car? That would be a very nice function to have.

Thanks in advance.

You can change how many times you want the turn signals to flash - Its set @ 3 standard.
I changed mines myself to 5.

I believe that the dealer should have a printed list of all custom settings available for each model as there are differences. They should be able to produce that for you to look over before deciding.

Here (see attachment) is the 2013 GS 350 Lexus Personalized Settings that are available. It explains how to change the settings that can be changed by the owner or dealer using the NAV system, and it lists the other settings that can only be changed by the dealer or using the Carista App.

Thanks BCLEXUS. That pdf is very helpful.

Why in the world can't lexus let you close the trunk from the inside switch or remote? Every SUV and minivan I have driven has this functionality.

Is there a non dealer way to program this?

Maybe because every minivan and SUV has windows to let you see who or what might be inside the vehicle?

Are there cars that enable you to close the trunk from the inside switch?

I'm guessing it must be a safety issue pertaining to trunks. I suspect the function is not operable from inside the car in the US/Canada. The rear door on the SUVs and minivans do not close a concealed area 'trunk' per se, but instead just another door to the occupant sitting area.

Nice besides the Remote Window/Sunroof Open is the driver's door lock key All Window/Sunroof close.

Have you ever had to return to a car to close them...unlock the car, start or accessory the key and then hold one or more switches? Now just insert the key in the driver's door and twist CCW...all done and locked also!

I don't know if u can change the number of turn signal on the 2015 with the OBD2 tools cause my 2014 cannot. U have to do the windshield wipers stalk trick to change it. But my 2015 CT lets me change it through the OBD2.

That 3 blinks to 5 blinks for the soft turn signal setting is a must. It took my dealer 1.5 hours to figure it out (had to call corporate and youtube it I guess) because nobody else had ever requested it. It gives you a nice extra second or so to move lanes gently on the highway, and the way people drive here, I try to communicate as perfectly as possible with signals. It kinda telegraphs your intention so people that were about to cut over may hesitate and let you in...or so the theory goes.

I bought the hardware for the Carista app and just customized some of my settings. But the main one I wanted to do doesnt seem available.. I want to change the number of times my turn signal flashes when I change lanes.. I hate that it is only 3 flashes, I would like 5 or 6. I thought I was able to change this but I do not see the option available I have a 2013 GS350
