So the other day me and my friend pulled up to a red light, we were next to each other and we decided to have a little fun. To my surprise my GS pulled away up until about 50 until his 516lbs of torque carried him away. Pretty impressive for a car that everyone says is underpowered. By the way the S55 was the supercharged V8 not the naturally aspirated one.

I guess it's the way the transmission is geared because the GS pulls really good off the line but is a slouch once you get to highway speeds.

The S55 and GS350 are almost identical when it comes to 0-60. S55 does it in 5.5 seconds and the GS does it in 5.7 seconds. The S55 is a about 1000+ lbs heavier so it comes down to the launch. Get a good launch and the S55 is gone. Bad launch and the GS will pull for a bit but once he gets some grip, all you will see are his tail lights. LOL

what year s55? the early s55 (no supercharger) was not that powerful. only 350hp and 0-60 is in the mid 5s. but the supercharged one has over 490hp and that car is in sub 5. i agree launch is a problem but if driven right the gs has no chance against the supercharged s55. and that car is 600lb heavier

The S55 was a 2004 definitely. I've driven it before.
