I have 18000 on my '14 GS350 and the Dunlacks still have plenty of tread, What has everyone else gotten out of these tires?

I have a '14 as well and had my 20k service recently. Tire tread is still good

I only have 12,000 on mine and they are very noisy. Still have lots of tread but can't wait to get rid of them.

I just had my 30K mile service (actually 32K) last week and the thread depth was listed as good (7/32 or Greater).

It is taking a lot of patience to stick with them. probably going with the Michelins next time around. Always had luck with them. Ride, Sound, Handling and tread life.

I think if one looked at the OEM Dunlop tires from a pure [aggressive] handling/traction standpoint I suspect they would be the choice over the other GS 350 OEM tires.

I had the Potenzas, RWD F Sport. Got a screw in a back tire a few weeks ago, so I ended up replacing all of them instead of just the rear pair. I was at 18.5k and had 5/32-7/32 on all corners.

New Michelin Pilot Sport Cups are nice though, they don't even complain when you corner hard with them, they just stick.

They were wearing out. OEM tires aren't designed to last long anyway. 5/32 is the limit, and they were pretty close, and it wasn't just tire shop dude measurement...my service advisor mentioned it at the 15k service also (I am hard on tires).

Potenzas have a nasty habit of getting loud, harsh, and slippery when they wear down that far, so I was ready for some Pilot Sports as soon as possible. Had the same issue on my G35 and got new skins for it as soon as I got my first flat also. Miss that full-size spare with the matching rim.

My other reason is overall hassle. I was in the shop for a bolt stuck near the sidewall through the rear tire. My options were to: A. Replace both rears (special order). B. Replace all tires (super special order). If I would have replaced the rears, I would have had to wait for the tires to come in anyway (1 week), go back, get them mounted, etc. That burns alot of time. Then, once the fronts got low, I would have been probably 3k down the road, and I'd have to do it all over again for the front tires. Meanwhile I would have mismatched tread with 2 different brands and compounds.

Considering the overall hassle level of having to order tires twice and hit the tire shop and lose half my afternoon twice, I just got a new set. The upside is that Michelin is sending me a $70 card for the promo that was going on at the time. Also, the Pilot Sports would have been my choice from day one if the dealership had been able to locate them. I love them so far.

Because they're terrible tires. You spend all this money on a car, why suffer through rolling around in loud, crappy tires that keep you from enjoying how nice it is to save $800-1000?

Talk to my wife. She just can't see paying for new tires when the originals are still "good". Good? I think they were crap from day one.
