Default Call me crazy: 4gs to frs release 1.0

I have a '14 gs 350 fsport. Somehow i just got bored with it for a daily driverz. I m sweet on FRS release 1.0, the yellow one that isnloaded with TRD goodies. Am I crazy if I go from gs to
Frs as a dailiy driver? I only commute e days a week. Thanks

if you care about luxury and comfort, yes you are crazy

if you care about having fun and enjoy the driving / maneuver part, it makes sense

Coming from an FRS to my current 3is... DON'T DO IT!

you'll regret it after the honeymoon stage wears off.

The car has a few engine problems that toyota/subrau are still trying to iron out. If you go on ft86club.com you'll notice that quite a few members experience check engine lights with a car that is less than a year old.

Also, the fa20 engines have an oil leak that is inherent to its design. you can fix that permanently with aftermarket parts but it's a hassle.

Car also has really crappy build quality; keep in mind although it's designed by Toyota and subrau, it's ultimately built in a subaru plant. Quality control is questionable. This leads to the car rattling and water condensation in the tail lights.

Yes the car is fun to drive and yes there are a lot of aftermarket support for that platform but the small things such as rattles that happens on highway speeds that toyota couldn't fix for me after leaving the car with them for 3 days, and crappy overall build quality, and alarming amount of engine failures has left a bad taste in my mouth.

Please don't do it.

But at least u got the power of the 2GR and the luxury of a Lexus, so the tiptronic will do for me.

If I have to downsize from the GS that is... and I've found it's extremely hard to let go of the GS into something else.

If you want to sit in traffic and deal with shifter/clutch then by all means. I have a 30 mile commute on the days I do go into the office. It's soooooooo nice to sit in the GS listening to tunes amplified by ML system vs my previous DD (BMW X1 with all the bells and whistles). GS FTW!!!

if you're looking for a fun car, maybe keep the GS and get a used mx-5/miata or an s2000 or an mr2. you can pick up the miata or mr2 for a few grand for those days you want to enjoy a manual, more visceral car and still have the GS for more comfortable driving. a buddy of mine got a miata recently and he loves it (roughly 75 mile commute round-trip), but he can already tell he's going to need something more comfortable.

Hey bro you wasn't the only one, I got a series blue BRZ and man that thing is so much fun. I still have my gs tho but my wife mostly drives it now. Everytime I hop in the gs I get so bored. Once I hop back into my 86 boy all smiles per miles even going at speed limit is fun. One turn and you be smiling for days. Also it faster then a is 250 I've race my buddy 3is and won 3 out of 3 times and is capable to be made faster then a rcf with a turbo kit. I do love my lexus when I just cruise around to break knecks and flex once in awhile
