Default Got into my first accident :(

I was on my way to the gym and saw that the road I was going down was blocked off so I went down a side road to see if I could go further down to see if I could continue. Long story short I came up at a light and there were two cars in front of me. Light turned green but it was still blocked off so the car in the front started to back up. The dip**** who hit me freaked out and threw his pos into reverse and smacked me. Didn't speak a lick of English and had crappy insurance. Insurance is sending someone out to look at it on Monday. Hopefully I can get Lexus to do all of the work. So pissed. I'm not worried about the car getting fixed I'm just worried about them matching the Starfire Pearl.

That's a real shame... Hopefully it will be equal to perfect after the repair.

Dude, nice looking ride. Sorry you got smacked. At least the at fault had insurance.
I expect the Insurance Adjuster/Appraiser will be excited to see their insured put a
down payment on a Lex. As a side note, with many states giving away driver licenses
to anyone and everyone, do yourself a favor and make sure you have adequate un-
insured, underinsured coverage on your own auto policy.

How would uninsured and under-insured coverage apply to property damage only?

Stick to your guns on who fixes it. I made a mistake years ago that I regretted by taking a car where the insurance company suggested. It was even a legit Cadillac dealer but with a ****-poor body shop (the car was an RX-7 Mazda).

I had an accident a couple cars ago and had to take it back twice because I wasn't satisfied with the color match. I still wasn't satisfied after that but since it was a lease I just said forget it because I was tired of being without my car.

And glad you're ok.

faifai83...while I worked Insurance for 31 years I am not expert.
here is an excerpt. Your own policy collision coverage should respond up
to limits, However.... Did not mean to get off on tangent.

If the policy holder or policy holder rider is injured or, in some states, has property
damage stemming from an accident caused by
another person with no motor vehicle insurance,
the injured person and the insured can look to
this UM coverage to pay for the injuries and in
some instances the property damage caused by the
uninsured motorist, subject to the applicable limits

Dammit that hurts... Color matching is going to be a pain. Hopefully they can get it right the first time.

Sorry to hear what happened to your nice ride, but the most important thing is you are ok. This will show on the Carfax later, and it is sucks that it willl diminish the resale value down the road.

Yep. Lucky the guy had some kind of insurance. Around where I am you would've been SOL.

That is right "damaged goods" like if your gf was with a lot of people. Doesn't feel good at all.

Ouch that sucks; I'd be pissed! But I'm sure she'll be back to new in no time.
