Default Black front grill

hey guys, I wanna know what are some methods to have the original chrome pieces such as the front grill and window trims painted into glossy black. I called my paint guy and he told me chrome pieces are not 'paintable' and that I shouldn't go that route.

I saw on a thread somewhere that some owners that used vinyl to wrap the window trim, were experiencing shrinkage due to the inability to tuck it. Seems like you want a permanent solution, so Plastidip might not be ideal. I wonder why they can't be painted.
