Default Front Passenger Supplemental Restraint Recall

Just received today in the mail a limited service campaign letter (recall notice ) for my '13 GS 350.

This involves replacement of the front passenger lower seat frame assembly and maybe according to the letter replacing also of the Occupant Classification System ( ECU ) whatever that is.

Can anyone shed some light on this and is there a chance that the dealer can screw up the interior of my car after he completes this service ? Nothing goes back together installed perfectly as when the factory does it.

any comments ?

There's already a thread on this topic. See https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...rs-system.html

I'm also nervous about this so I'm waiting a while to give the dealer a chance to learn the procedure from experience. I'd prefer not to get it done, but it sounds like a safety issue.

Did mine a few weeks ago without any issues.

I just had mine done last week. I really don't think you have anything to worry about.

I submitted an appointment for last week but my dealership declined my appointment stating that they are not doing repairs at this time...
