Default No 'all close' on my GS250

I found out today after using the sunroof that the all-close command (by pressing the keyfob lock button) only locks the doors. It does not close the windows nor the sunroof.

What do I need to do to get this to work?

It doesn't close from the remote, only when turning and holding the physical key to the lock position will close everything.

none of the US spec cars have that feature. it's disabled and likely due to liability issues

Thanks guys.

The GS250 is owned in the UK. I spend my time between the UK and Florida.

For quite some time the GS has been sold in the UK only as a hybrid, with a 300 or 450 engine. Mine must have been one of the last petrol-only.

Does that have the same engine as the IS 250?

you need to press and hold the lock button. the first beep will lock the doors, hold on to it and the 2nd beep will close all 4 windows and sunroof. ours in SG works this way.

I don't know if it has the same engine as the IS but it is a V6 with 209 hp.

I had tried holding the lock button down (it works that way on my '98 GS300) but this has no effect. Something tells me that this is dealer-programmable only.

I don't even see that option on the Carista app. U can only open with the remote but no closing option, otherwise I woulda done it and made another video of it.

I don't even see it on the list of features the dealer can change.

If the car is a UK-market car, then you most likely do have that option, but it needs to be enabled by a dealer or with Carista. Note that US-market cars don't have that option.

If this can somehow be added to US cars, that app would be worth a purchase from me even if it was just a one time use.

I got to the bottom of this. Finally.

The UK-spec GS's and LS's get shipped with the Global Close feature active. My dealer and possibly many others disable the feature.

My service reception guy tells me that the problem is the long radio range of the keyfob, the British weather and all close = all open . Sooner or later someone in a pub or restaurant will accidentally press the button in their pocket or handbag and return to their car to find it waterlogged.

The dealer can re-instate it but severely advise against.

Funny you mentioned this. I fell asleep at my brother's house this weekend in full street clothes. It was a long day. Anyway, I had my key fob in my jeans pocket all night long. When my brother came in the morning, he discovered my car had all 4 windows and sunroof opened. Thank God it didn't rain that night. LOL

I guess that's the reason for the key gloves...to prevent accidental opening and closing. Maybe that's why they're including it for all the 2015s.
