I made an appointment and had it done with an oil change. I left the car there and waited 2 weeks for the parts to come in. I got a IS250 free loaner and a full tank of gas when I picked my car up so I was happy. Longo lexus in El monte, CA by the way.

I had mine repaired on Tuesday/Wednesday along with 25k service. They buggered up the passenger side door sill in the process so I'm not sure how many my dealer has done. I'm sure they'll touch it up just fine. Wouldn't even have caught it right away except that I had them detail the car during this service--those new scratches really stand out now! A friendly "Please Be Careful" when you takes yours in wouldn't hurt.

I think I will take pics and date them before taking the car in for the service.

Mine's in right now having the door lock actuator replaced on the driver's side rear door. Seat parts are still on order. The service guy said the issue is the luxury seat, they have parts for the regular seat but not the luxury seat.

Does anyone know exactly what the issue is? Is it that the front passenger air bag may deploy even if no one is in the front passenger seat. Or is it the the air bag may NOT deploy if a pasenger is in the seat. If it's the former it does not sem to be a safety issue and I may pass. Thoughts?

Made my appointment 3 weeks ago. The service adviser knew about the recall, arranged a loaner for me and everything. Got to the dealership early this morning. Gave the recall letter to another service adviser. He did his thing on the computer then says:

yeah.. sorry, we don't have the parts for this. It's a 4 week lead time.

Thanks for the heads up. I made the appointment for May 21st with explicit instructions that the parts be available. I will certainly call a few days prior..

It looks worse than the picture shows...I think the tech tried to clean up the scratches with something (acetone?) so there's actually a smudge in the paint around the large scratch at the top.

ahh.... it sucks having to find scratches and dents after dropping your car off. They get you by car washes or another way. You can see their cars on the lot all scratched up when the light hits it.

I hope they fix that for ya! let us know the outcome.

Just got mine fixed today. Dealership fixed it within the same business day and even filled up the car with gas.
