If he is in Dallas, we get occasional ice and snow. My Michelin Pilots worked out great on my GS.

You'd be surprised at how noticeable even fractional inches are. I noticed right away that my car sat higher when i put on the larger sidewalled S04s. I don't mind the look and i enjoy the ride from the thicker sidewalls but i do notice that the car has a slightly lifted 4x4 look a la audi allroad

Yes, I noticed that when I switched from the OEM Dunlops to the Michelin Pilot Super Sports. The Michelins had a much higher sidewall and it took some getting used to.

Shurik74: What size are your tires (and what model car)? What are your impressions now of the Hankook Ventus? How long did you keep the Micheline SS?

Size: 245/40-19
Car: 2011 Acura TL SH-AWD 6MT (up for sale now)
Kept Micheline's for about 8K miles
Impressions: Very quiet and great grip if warmed up and softer then Michelines SS, not sure what else you might want to know. I can't compare to anything else, only those two had on my TL. I would pick these again from summer tires selection for my next car for sure. All my previous vehicles had Michelines Pilot all season.

Following this thread. I'm getting close to 20k and will need tires within the year. Planning on going with Michelin Super Sports since I'm in Texas and want summer tires. Sure, we got a real winter for a month this year, but who knows about next year? I want a sticky summer tire and my friend just put these on his M3 and they do the job.

Also they just happen to be one of the few tires that fit Lexus' weird staggered fitment for this car.

You might be happy with Micheline's SS, they are super sticky especially in hot summer roads... I think Acura TL's suspension is not that soft as Lexus GS's where my experience came from.

Thought I would post some pictures. This car handling and smoothness changed DRAMATTICALLY!! I mean I put the car on Sport + mode and feels like the cars driving on butter. These ores do sure have some meat too.

No issues? Rubbing? Warning lights? Do the tires fit properly on the wheels?

No rubbing at all. No lights. No issues. I came from the Bridgstones. And these are a 90% improvement .

I replaced the oem Potenzas well before they had to be because they sucked. At 15k miles they were noisy and would have flat spots in them after sitting even for a day or 2. I replaced them with Michelin Pilot Super Sports in the factory size and they fit perfect and still seem meatier. The ride is better, they are quiet and handle on rails. Worth the money, if you can find them, and if you are okay with summer performance tires.
