Default Brakes have Loud Squealing

Hi Guys,

I was hoping someone can help me out with this issue. I have 2013 GS350 I bought in October with 5k miles. Currently I have 14,500 miles on it today.

Every time I have a cold start on the car, When driving at low speeds and braking, it has a loud squealing noise. Once the car has been running and driving, it goes away and doesn't came back unless I park the car and get back in an hour or so later. I went to the dealer and the guy said it's "normal", said moisture gets in and needs a few minutes break apart and that's how Lexus designs their cars. Which is believe is BS. Hoping you guys can help me. Thanks!

Here is a video of the noise. This isn't as loud as I've heard it before.

Same issue on cold start mornings as I back out of the garage but I goes away once car has driven a short distance. It's a known TSB if you want new pads at dealer expense that may help solve issue but no guarantee.

I called them, TSB listed in the system is only for F-Sport models. They won't do it on my GS 350 AWD. They aren't budging at all. He said he can't claim a F-Sport parts for a normal GS.....I'm stuck and I'm not paying to replace them. This sound is also ridiculous.

Technical service bulletin. Basically bulletins that cite known issues and potential fixes. Not recalls. Not necessarily warranted/paid by manufacturer. Just bulletins that tells dealers how to fix issues that may be unique to a line of vehicle that are discovered by other dealers or manufacturer.

Its a info sharing thing. Could be used to request the fix be warranted but not always the case. Sometimes the TSB will list the fix should be warranted. Sometimes it just lists a fix.

Have they checked the shims?

This one seems to say it's covered by the standard warranty though.

If it says it should be covered by the standard warranty and you are within that period... go in citing the listed symptoms per the TSB. If this dealer won't do it take it to another. Most dealer will perform the remediating fixes if you cite symptoms exactly as listed on the TSB because the manufacturer picks up the bill.

Otherwise, open them up and change all the shims front and rear.

Hey Guys,

I appreciate all the help. I will go in regarding this TSB since the service manger said no to the F-Sport one. Thanks!

Where can I find out more info about the F-Sport models? I scheduled an appt to bring in my car already but I won't have time for another two weeks. My brakes squeal regardless if it's cold or not.

Can't believe the forum is more aware of these TSBs than some dealers. Ridiculous!! All the dealer could have said, yeah that TSB is for the F-sport, but here's another one for your non-F sport and it seems to apply, let's go take care of it.
