Default 2015 4GS -- Electronic Parking Brake manually released. Still needs dealer reset?

I've found a few references to the electronic parking brake on the GS350, and how if you manually release it, you need the dealer to reset the system.

Some people say the owners manual even says that you need the dealer to reset it.

My 2015 manual says no such thing. SO, was that dealer reset changed in newer model years? Basically, if I release it manually, the car will automatically figure it out and reset the system? Has anyone tried it?

Huh, I use the electronic parking brake all the time there is a button I have turned it off and turned it on no dealer required when I did it.

When they mention manually releasing it, I think it's in reference to literally, manually releasing it in the event of a dead car. Since it's an electronic actuated emergency brake, there has to be a manual mechanism to release it.

Yes, right.. If you use the screwdriver attachment to manually release it because your battery died, for example...

Use screwdriver with the long driver attachment. Remove the spare tire, then remove a port access under the tire. Insert screwdriver into hole, push, turn counterclockwise.

Oh so it's inside the spare tire compartment. Thanks! Needed to know this in case of emergency.
