Default Need for speed

I have an OBD port monitor plugged in to my car so I can get a discount on my insurance. I'm 10 days into 90 days total and I've only been driving for 3 days of it (business traveller). I feel like this is what driving a Prius feels like. Anyone do one of these programs before? I even added a sticky on my dash to remind me I have a monitor in the car.

So ur basically letting them track and control u. I would never go for that, I'll just find a company that does not require me to do this kinda stuff to get discounts.

Not fond of inviting big brother to join me on my drives. Those monitors can never tell the whole story. If the freeways are clear, 80 is perfectly fine... whereas if traffic is heavy, an idiot can be a danger doing 40 on the same section of freeway. Also, many of the horrible drivers in So.Cal drive at or below speed limit.

I agree with you and understand your reasoning. I opted in because my car is mostly at the airport so these days should breeze by. My partner's car is typically back and forth from work (~5 miles) but someone cut him off and he had to brake suddenly. His discount is currently at 18% and mine is at 22%. 80 more days!

Ouch... thats why I would avoid these things. I'm constantly having to brake for people who cut me off.

Put on some classical music and just ride out the 80 days. Good luck. OR, get a very tiny picture of the front of a police car and stick that in your rear view mirror.

See even Need 4 Speed himself wouldn't do it.

Damn! What does this insurance company do if they have your homeowner's insurance - put a camera in the ceiling of your bedrooms?

I would definitely not agree to allow them to do that. Something tells me that you can obtain equal coverage at a lower premium from another insurance company.

Progressive Ins. is doing this nonsense too. They call it Snapshot. Well snapshot my butt! Nobody's telling me how to drive my damn car!

Sometimes u need to pass and do evasive maneuvers to avoid collision or road debris... ur gonna ding me for that?! I don't think so!

Yeah I'd rather just pay more for insurance. I'm clearly a risk with the way I drive anyways.
