Default GS 350 RWD - 0-60 Runs and Some Fun

i found a nice road the other night and couldn't resist doing a few 0-60's with the GS. Loads of fun, decided to make a little video out of it. Its my first one so im sorry for the seat belt chime, i will wear it next time. The first attempt was not completed because i saw a car coming in the distance and wanted to slow down. The 2nd try was a pretty good shift, however the third attempt was not a good shift, i think it would be slower. I still have to time it to see how was the results.

If you have an iPhone and a Wifi OBD2 device, DashCmd has a nice feature that measures performance stats such as 0-60 and 0.25 mile times.

So just so that I understand correctly, the video was taken to test out the performance but seat belts weren't worn?

My trusty stopwatch got 5.7

With traction control off and auto you could probably get 5.5

My F Sport turns exactly the same 0-60 time as my 1998 M3 sedan. But the M3 feels twice as fast. Mass matters.

Your right man traction control, i forget about that in luxury cars. I think i can do a little better as well. I had a nice shift on the first try, too bad didnt complete the run. Will try again soon.

I have Galaxy Note Edge, anyone aware of any apps for it?

Sub 5 second 0-60 times are very common with all sorts of casual performance cars nowadays. Sub 4 second times are pretty much the norm from the authentic performance cars.

That's what I gathered. I don't get why someone wouldn't wear it. Besides that, the GS dings at you like crazy!

Maybe I'm misunderstanding you. Traction control is not exclusive to luxury vehicles. It's standard on pretty much every vehicle made these days, no matter what the price point is. Correct me if I'm wrong someone, but is TC required in cars nowadays by the government?

Yeah that's what I was thinking. My 09 SRT Grand Cherokee would do it in 4.9 sec. That was 6 years ago... Speaking of speed. I was kinda feeling down on my GS power wise and the issues I have been having with it. Parked it for about two weeks and MAN DID I MISS MY GS. I didn't realize it until I was driving it. I love the way this dang car drives. It's just well balanced in every aspect. It's not a floating couch Cadillac, but it's not an overly bumpy rough BMW. And it feels quick again after driving a far lesser of a car the past two weeks. I love my GS and this forum

It's a hard habit to break if you are use to NOT WEARING YOUR SEATBELT. I completely understand. Neither of my parents will wear one. It's sad. But please, for those of you that don't wear a seatbelt in a moving vehicle, consider what would happen in the event of a collision. Whether it's a forward collision or rear, it's extremely dangerous to not be restrained within the seat. You do not want to be thrown through the windshield of your car. PLEASE BUCKLE UP

Watching the video and I'm a little nosey... Do you have the 12.3" navigation screen? I can only see the 8" section displayed.

PirelliGS - You can tell that your GS 350 is an 8-speed transmission because at 6,500 RPM in 2nd gear the speed will be 63.55 MPH. (At 2:10 on your video your RPM was ~6,200 with a speed of ~61 MPH.) A 6-speed transmission at 6,500 RPM in 2nd gear would be about 72 MPH.

The acceleration and engine sound of the GS is very addicting.

I could never go into gas saving mode in this car. The moment the light turns green and I hear the RPM going up, all hell break loose. heheh..
