Should I get the Glass Break Sensor?
I'm considering adding the Glass Break Sensor to my car (when it gets out of the bodyshop.. sigh..).
I can get one for $200 installed (by the dealer, after a 50% coupon I got from the Costco auto program) Does anyone have a GBS? Are they useful? Waste of money?

I have yet to use Enform. LOL How does that work BTW? The car has a dedicated internet connection?

I really dont get the glass breakage sensor.. If my window is broken I think I'm going to know pretty quickly!!
I have had cars stolen, and they never broke the window either.
Enform is an app you install on your phone that syncs to the car via bluetooth, so it will devour your cell data usage using apps like Slacker, Pandora, Yelp, Facebook etc..
It is free for the first year and I dig it alright, but then there is a subscription fee after the first year, over a couple hundred bucks a year I wanna say, but dont quote me on that. Seems kinda steep for what it is, and also that you cant use half the functions while you are driving (without a mod anyways).

Yes but how does Enform send you an email that your glass is broken when you are not in the car?

Lexus Enform App Suite (pandora, bing, yelp, slacker, etc) is free. Lexus Enform Remote (use app to lock car, unlock, start car, check status) is only free for the first year, then it's $220 a year (includes Safety Connect). I'm thinking that the glass breakage sensor uses Safety Connect's data connection to send you alerts to the Enform Remote app. Once your free trial expires, the glass breakage sensor will pretty much be useless since it won't send alerts to your phone anymore.

I see., I did find Safety Connect useful the one time my car got stuck in the snow and they sent a tow truck to wench me out free of charge.

I wasn't aware they got RES+ working. Quite cool.

I just read about it and it's the 2015 models only for now. I'm assuming they will continue it for later models as well.
